What if I have calories left when I hit all my macros?

You won’t always hit your caloric needs with your macros perfectly, but try to get as close as you can. It’s helpful to pre log your meals. The key is to hit your protein first (depending on your goals).


How effective is macro tracking?

Depends how consistent and determined you are! Macro tracking increases your awareness of the quality and amount of food you are consuming. It allows flexibility (also known as food freedom) and discourages entire eliminations from food groups.


If I start tracking, will I have to track forever?

It depends on the person, their goals, and their preferences. Tracking is used to educate you on how much to eat and what type of foods your body needs to get to maintenance. Once you reach maintenance you can transition into intuitive eating if you desire! Others find it comforting to track macros for long periods of time as well.
